Review coming soon

Let's Talk About Diabetes with Owls, David Sedaris

The Upstairs Woman, Claire Messud
Did not like this book at all.
My Goodreads review

When She Woke, Hillary Jordan
My Goodreads review

Mudbound, Hillary Jordan
This book stayed with my for weeks, as did her other book above.

Gone Girl, Gillian Flynn
Sharp Objects
Dark Places
I went on a binge here. I loved these books and can't wait for something new. Love the way women are depicted. It is not the traditional woman as victim/husband as victimizer.  Gave me chills. And I loved it.

Promise Not to Tell, Jennifer McMahon
I read this right after Flynn's books. It paled in comparison and was predictable, formulaic. But it was a great, creepy story.
My Goodreads review

Push, Sapphire
Mmm...this was hard to read in terms of subject and very depressing. I won't be reading it again. I was really hoping something good would happen to this girl, even if just a tiny thing, but it was just one thing after another on every single page.

Lives Like Loaded Guns: Emily Dickinson and Her Family Feuds.
LOVE this book. Literary and family squabbles to the max. Also, interesting to see another facet of Dickinson's life.
My Goodreads review (so far)

To Show and To Tell: the craft of literary nonfiction, Phillip Lopate
Great book for the nonfiction sect. Very accessible.

The Bluest Eye, Toni Morrison
I think I might have been too distracted to read this properly. I was in the middle of other, numerous writing material.
