Two Other Posts at Imperfect Parent

So Barbie's getting tattooed. So what. It's not as bad as crazy pregnant falling out of her stomach and all....

With the economic crisis, permanent birth control becomes something to consider for many...and the abortion rate goes about cheaper birth control?

  1. There is cheap birth control...but it takes a lot of dedication and self control. Natural Family Planning is practically free once you learn how to do it (and no, I don't mean the Rhythm Method...I have irregular periods and can't do that). It involves charting waking temperature, cervical fluid and position to determine when you are most fertile and should avoid sex. Not as easy as the pill by any means but considering there are a lot of people who can't afford it I don't know why this doesn't get more press.

  2. I'm aware of that sort of birth control. One of the reasons why it doesn't get more press is because it IS free, doesn't cost anything-nobody, especially the big drug companies; those who manufacture the pill, etc., wouldn't make any money off it.
Another reason I think it doesn't get enough press is the fact that most women aren't "in tune" enough with their bodies as they could be.
